The digital age has been an adjustment for so many. It has allowed individuals to be constantly informed and be given any information needed in just a few clicks on the go. Within this comes the ability to receive notifications and instant information straight to the home screen of a cellphone. These applications give access to local, national, and global information straight to their screens, but is this good for individuals to have or is it a way for the convenience to become a problem at large.
Impact of Political Notifications
There is no shortage of information from mainstream media to alternative news sources. There is tons of information pushed to cellphones daily and gives users access straight to their fingertips. This has reshaped political information in so many ways:
1. 24/7 Access to Information: Users can access breaking news at any time at any point during the day. In a culture where being connected is at an all-time high, this allows for information to spread and give awareness to events and could help give a sense of urgency to a location.
2. Personalized Feeds: While the range of information is great it gives a risk of only showing the beliefs and preferences of the user. Algorithms are personalized to the user which would only push content that aligns with the user's beliefs. Could hinder other viewpoints and other information important to a specific topic.
3. Spread of Misinformation: With the rise of social media and cellphones there becomes a whole new problem of the spread of misinformation. With the spread of information going from person to person, there become bigger problems relating to whether or not the information spread is true or not. This happens daily within social media.
All of these pieces at hand help with Navigating the Digital age. Some of the topics to navigate in the future of the digital age would include fact-checking.
Supporting Media Literacy, Engaging with other individuals who don't have the same beliefs, and plenty more.

Distribution of media has definitely changed over time, with the invention of cell phones our ability to receive personalized media has expanded greatly and corporations have capitalized on that. Getting information updates in real-time isn't something we've had for super long (relatively) and it's taken a couple years for companies and politicians to figure out how to use it effectively, but now they're experts at it and using these technologies to inject their goals into every part of our lives.
